Spark plug maintenance

Spark plugs are key components of motorcycle engines. The normal combustion of the mixture is the key to the normal operation of the engine. First of all, the types of spark plugs used in each engine are different, mainly due to different calorific value, thread size, etc., so be sure to use the specified type of spark plug. The engine is burning normally. Unscrew the spark plug and observe that the electrode should be ochre red normally. If it turns black, there is carbon deposition, indicating that the mixture is too rich and the combustion is not sufficient. The carbon deposition should be cleaned up. Use a sharp cone to clean the carbon deposits on the central electrode groove and L pole; adjust the spark plug gap: GS125 (0.6-0.9mm), QS150T (0.7-0.8mm), carbon deposits on the spark plug will prevent good sparks and may cause misfires ;If it is found that the spark plug is easy to be wet or burnt to gray, indicating that the heat value of the spark plug does not match, you should go to the designated repair shop of Qingqi Suzuki to replace the suitable spark plug. Note:

1. Determine the thread size and plug stem length. If the plug rod is too short, it will cause carbon deposits on the threaded portion of the plug hole and cause damage to the engine.

2. Before applying the spark plug wrench, carefully screw the spark plug into the threaded part of the cylinder head by hand to prevent damage.

3. Tighten the spark plug to the specified tightening torque using the spark plug sleeve of the special vehicle-mounted tool.

Air filter maintenance

The air filter is the breathing system of the motorcycle. If the air filter is blocked by dust, the air intake resistance will increase, which will reduce the output power of the engine, increase the fuel consumption, and make the engine difficult to start and easy to stall. Seriously, the dust enters the cylinder block, which will increase the wear and tear of engine components. . To clean the air filter, follow these steps:

Remove the air filter element from the vehicle;

If the filter element is a sponge foam, it can be cleaned carefully with neutral detergent, do not twist too hard, dry the water after cleaning, drop 2-3 drops of oil (in order to absorb the very fine dust in the air), hold it evenly by hand, and install it as it is. Reply; if it is a paper filter element, it must not be cleaned with liquid, but the internal dust can be beaten vigorously. If possible, use compressed gas to blow in the opposite direction of the air intake (do not do it the other way around, otherwise blowing the dust into the pores of the paper core will block it. more serious); example: QS150T paper core blows from the inside to the outside, and the storm prince blows from the outer ring to the middle hole.

When replacing the filter element, pay attention to the installation direction and air intake direction;

When driving in a dusty and dirty environment, the cleaning frequency should be increased. If the sponge is broken or the paper filter element is soaked, it should be replaced with a new one immediately, otherwise the engine will be damaged or black smoke will be emitted.

Maintenance of oil filter

Most users know that the oil should be changed on time, but there is a principle to master:

The oil is replaced with new oil, and the filter element is not replaced. During the lubricating process of the engine, the oil pump sucks the oil out of the bottom tank, first presses it into the oil filter element for filtration, and then transports the filtered clean oil to the cylinder head, crankshaft and transmission parts. If the filter element is too dirty, the filtering effect of the oil will be poor, the output oil volume will be reduced, and the various parts will not be well lubricated, which will cause excessive wear.
